 At High Park Doodles all of our parent dogs are genetically health tested through Embark Vet. Embark is an all-inclusive DNA test that tests for genetic health conditions relevant to our breed, clinical tools, and 215+ genetic variants associated with disease. Embark also tests for coat and body traits so we can be confident which parents to pair together to get furnished (low to no shed) doodles, a better gauge at size, and more. 

 At High Park Doodles all of our parent dogs are physically health tested through OFA. The tests our adult dogs are tested for include hips, elbows, cardiac, eyes, and depending on the breed, patellas. The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals is a database of radiographs (x-rays) and genetic tests that dog breeders use to try to produce the healthiest possible puppies. OFA prelims can be done as young as 12 months of age. If you do not see one of our dogs in the OFA database it’s because prelims were done. OFA states, “preliminary evaluations of hip joint status in dogs are generally reliable.”  If one of our dogs do not pass prelims we will retest at 2 years of age. You can read more on OFA HERE.
